Thanks for visiting my website! I’m the author of the Crescent Cove Mysteries, a queer cozy mystery series set on Canada’s Vancouver Island. The first book in the series, THE BODY IN THE BACK GARDEN, appeared in August of 2023 from Crooked Lane Books.

I’m originally from Calgary, Alberta, and grew up on the cold, windswept Prairies of western Canada. Fleeing southward, I earned a Ph.D. in the history of science, medicine, and technology from the Johns Hopkins University and then worked as a professor at Michigan State University for fifteen years. Finally, I persuaded my amazing husband to move to Vancouver Island, where we now live.

When I’m not writing stories about murderous Canadians, I play the viola in the Civic Orchestra of Victoria, walk our dogs along the seashore, and think up interesting ways to kill people.
